It's not often that we get the chance to see behind the scenes at Pinoli Premium Pine Nuts. As a Cawthron Marlborough Environment Awards winner the company is opening its doors to the public, so please come and see how their premium pine nuts grow - participate in the full tour from harvesting the cone to sampling the nut. Bookings with Bev Doole by 25 June essential.
NZDFI has identified 12 potential regional industry catchments and is working with partners in priority regions to identify future processing sites and annual planting targets.

The Supreme and Landscape and Habitat enhancement award in 2021 was given to Marlborough Sounds Restoration Trust for their trail-blazing community action on wilding pine control. Wilding pines pose a significant problem in the Sounds. The Trust was set up in 2003 to stop the rapid spread of wilding pine trees and bring back the native bush and distinctive skylines of the Sounds.
