New Zealand Wine Futures Fund is open
The Bragato Research Institute is accepting expressions of interest for this new fund created for the benefit of the New Zealand wine industry. This fund was developed to bring new ideas, approaches and capability to our wine research ecosystem. Application guidelines, including assessment criteria, are attached. A few things to note:

The NZDFI Develops Sustainable Regional Hardwood Industries
NZDFI has identified 12 potential regional industry catchments and is working with partners in priority regions to identify future processing sites and annual planting targets.

Wilding Pine work recognised at Cawthron Environment Awards
The Supreme and Landscape and Habitat enhancement award in 2021 was given to Marlborough Sounds Restoration Trust for their trail-blazing community action on wilding pine control. Wilding pines pose a significant problem in the Sounds. The Trust was set up in 2003 to stop the rapid spread of wilding pine trees and bring back the native bush and distinctive skylines of the Sounds.
