The Marlborough Environment Awards Trust has announced the first Field Days for the 2025 Port Marlborough Marlborough Environment Awards winners — and we’d love you to come along!
As joint Supreme Sponsor , MRC is proud to support these events that showcase the incredible environmental leadership and innovation happening across our region.
Each Field Day offers an exclusive opportunity to visit one of this year’s winners on their own property or workplace. You’ll see their work up close, hear their stories, and take home new ideas and inspiration for your own projects.

First Field Day: Farming Category Winner — Glentoi Farm
When: Wednesday 17 September 2025, 9:30am–2:00pm,
Where: Ward, Marlborough
Owned by Willie and Millie Millton, Glentoi is a 1,685 ha sheep and beef breeding and finishing property with extensive native vegetation — including 32 ha protected under a Significant Natural Area designation.
The Milltons are passionate about integrating productive farming with ecological kaitiakitanga (guardianship), showing how economic farming can go hand-in-hand with sustainable land management and native restoration.
Special guest: Susan Moore-Lavo from Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service.
Note: 4WD vehicle and moderate 4WD experience required (carpooling available). BYO lunch.
